What is AIS?
Active Isolated Stretching is the most innovative form of therapeutic stretching. It has proven to be effective for pain reduction or elimination, postural re-alignment and performance enhancement.
AIS is the safest form of therapeutic stretching because a stretch is never held for more than 2 seconds. Muscles opposite to the targeted muscles to be stretched are actively contracted. This contraction sends a neurological message to isolated muscle to relax and is therefore stretched safely, fully and effectively.
